Purbeck Living’s Room Design Service is to help you confidently create a room which you love. We work with you to develop a design which you can use as a starting point to achieve your dream space. The process aims to help you spend your money wisely and to feel confident about the choices you make, so you are entirely happy with your final room.
How the Purbeck Living’s Room Design Service works:
Once you have chosen to use Purbeck Living’s Room Design Service, we will book an appointment for Sophie Walker, the designer, to come and see you in your home for a consultation.
The aim of the consultation is to help Sophie, understand what you want to achieve from your room and the design service. She will ask you questions, look at some vernal ideas, fill in her own questionnaire and take measurements of the room. This will help give Sophie a picture of how you wish to use the space, what your style preferences are, colours you like and other points which help build a picture of the design you would like. It also helps provide the initiative information required for looking at soft furnishings such as blinds or sofas which need re-upholstering.
Once we know what you are wanting to achieve, the first port of call is to go to Swanage Carpets and Curtains, to go through their samples to obtain ideas for the furnishings, texture and colour which will work well in your room. This step can either be by Sophie going alone to the shop or in conjunction with yourself. In either situation, the information you discussed at the consultation will be used to build the design and samples can be collected to discuss at the final design meeting. (NB if you wish to have ready-made curtains these can be included in the mood board and will be researched by Sophie)
Sophie will return to Purbeck Living and develop your design by researching our suppliers and other companies to bring together all the elements of your room. Once completed she will put together a physical sample board. This will show you all the items put together as suggestions for the room design, including the fabric samples. Working in conjunction with the physical sample board will also be given a price list. The price list details the cost of all the items and quotes of the services on the board.
Sophie will then meet with you on an arranged date to talk through the mood board and her ideas for the room. You can them choose which ideas and services you wish to take forward.
The cost of the service is based on two days’work by Sophie, including consultation at your home, research of the items and visits to suppliers, these development of the design and mood board and the final consultation.
£250 (inclusive of VAT)
NB, it would be possible to achieve a modified room design service by phone consultation and photos sent by yourself. However, you may be required to take provisional measurements to assist the process. This service would cost £200.
